Steve - Balance approach indeed. I think this site/publication does an impressive job of surveying a variety of different makers and forms. I have found it most helpful in regards to research on both narrative and experimental film, on both contemporary and historical makers.
Also, I think that it emanates from another hemisphere encourages its consideration of a number of makers, films, and festivals that don't always get talked about in US publications and sites.
I'd be sure to take a look at the festival reports that the site offers. They will allow a window onto the contemporary artistic and exhibition scene. And I am not just saying that because one of the writers currently posted is a a UWM film department grad.
The guidelines for the next blog postings are up on the class D2L site. You'll need to make these posts by October 29.
Get back to me with any questions and I look forward to your posts.
